Port Moody councillor turns attention to school board: Zoe Royer is looking to switch seats this October, after 11 years on Port Moody city council.
The future of the former fire hall site and the public works yard will be decided by the residents of Port Moody, thanks to Coun. Zoe Royer, who moved the motion to defer council’s decision to sell the Firehall site, and refer it to a referendum. She said, “I believe we can get a new library, seniors housing and a beautiful soccer field without selling our public land. It’s a very emotional issue in the community.”...
Council voted to send the bylaw amendments to the land use committee for review, but Coun. Zoe Royer said the changes may not solve the issue. "We may never be able to answer the call on protecting views, dealing with radically different parts of the city, dealing with a loss of equity and facilitating good quality, sensitive builders, if we don't look at multiple zones," she said....
